Tech Roadmap

Sweden’s tech sector is growing – but to keep up the pace, we need to remove the roadblocks

Small, research-driven and high-tech companies are at the heart of Sweden’s innovation system. But today, these companies face major hurdles when trying to scale. During our roundtable at Techarenan 2025, five key areas emerged as priorities for reform: R&D, ecosystems, legislation, talent and capital.

Here are some of the questions we’re asking:

  • R&D – Should Sweden double down on making publicly funded research useful to industry?
  • Ecosystems – Do we need fewer, bigger innovation hubs?
  • Legislation – Is IP protection strong enough to compete globally?
  • Talent – Could a national STEM strategy help close the skills gap?
  • Capital – Are early-stage tech companies getting the funding they need?

Let’s build the roadmap for a stronger, bolder tech future – together.
